Hiking is one activity where you may become dehydrated and even “bonk” if you’re not careful. Bonking is a sudden feeling of running out of energy and being unable to continue, and deep in the woods on a long hike it can be dangerous (and unpleasant!). Steep terrain or long trails may not get your heart pumping as much as other activities, but it’s equally important to maintain adequate hydration throughout and not wait for signs of thirst before taking in water.
Additionally, day hikes and backpacking trips that lead you off the beaten path and into the unknown, while amazing, may take you longer and further than you planned. Weather and other factors can be unpredictable, and it’s always better to be prepared.
- Drink Osmo while you prepare to get out the door
- Pack a water bottle with Osmo Active Hydration no matter how far you plan to go, and if you plan to go longer than a few hours make sure you have at least a 3L camelbak of Osmo.
- Pack food no matter what! Even a Snicker’s bar can make a huge difference in critical moments.
Remember, Osmo works 3x faster than plain water alone to rehydrate you. Be prepared to be out for longer than you plan so you can enjoy the great outdoors.
